Syria: Emergency WASH NFIs to IDPs in North West Syria – SYR911
Since 2011, at least 560,888 people have been killed, 11.1 million are in humanitarian need, and 4.7 million in acute need. In May 2019, 5.9 million were in protracted internal displacement. When fleeing violence, thousands of families are often stranded on roads and in the open for several days as they identify options for temporary settlement or wait for access to safer areas. The number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and their vulnerability increased significantly in North West Syria due to increased fighting since Mid-January 2020.
Overall Objective
To increase access to emergency water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) non-food items (NFIs) for the most vulnerable IDPs in North West Syria by providing hygiene kits in accordance with the WASH Cluster specifications and as an emergency COVID-19 mitigation measure based on needs.
Specific Objective
Improved access to emergency hygiene.
