Wien/Genf, 26. Januar 2012 Vor einem Jahr begann die ägyptische Revolution  - anlässlich dieses Jubiläums bekundet CARE International besondere Solidarität mit den Frauen Ägyptens, erkennt deren außerordentliche Rolle in der Bewegung an und fordert alle relevanten Akteure auf, dass die Frauen eines neuen Ägyptens volle Teilhabe und garantierte Rechte bekommen, um ihr volles Potenzial auszuschöpfen.

"CARE International fully supports women’s rights and the dignity of women in Egypt. Given the critical role women play in all aspects of Egyptian society, it is imperative that their worth and status be acknowledged and strengthened in the new Egypt. CARE is a member of and stands with the Egypt Network for Women’s Rights Organizations (NWRO) in its efforts to promote women’s empowerment in Egypt. CARE calls upon the government of Egypt, political parties and communities to work together to create an Egypt that that respects and upholds the rights of women in Egypt to realize their full potential and participate in shaping the future of the country."
